Coach Blankenship enters his fourth season as the Head Coach of the Mustang Broncos. Prior to coaching, Blankenship had a playing career at Spiro High School, the University of Oklahoma, and East Central University. After his playing career, Blankenship began coaching as an assistant coach at Spiro High School, Union Christian Academy and Wilburton High School before advancing to head coach status at Class A Gore High School in 2011. In 2013, Blankenship took over as the Head Football Coach at Beggs High School where he led the Golden Demons to their first State Championship appearance since 1977 in his 5th season. Blankenship was named a finalist that year for the 2017 Oklahoma Coaches Association Football Coach of the Year.
In his first season as Head Coach, Blankenship's 2019 Mustang Bronco's defeated Tulsa Union for the first time in school history, securing a home field playoff advantage for the first time since the 6A split. Blankenship was named 2019 6A-1 Coach of the Year. In his third season at the helm, Blankenship led the Bronco's to their second home field playoff advantage in 3 years with a huge road win over Owasso. The Bronco's advanced to the state semi-finals for only the 7th time in school history. Coach Blankenship and his wife Abbey have two son's, Cole (7) and Clay (4).
